AUG 30, 2008
For 18 years the Association has held their annual golf outing to benefit the children at the Glenwood School. Each year we count on area businesses to help us raise funds for projects that directly affect the lives of the children in Glenwood’s care.
This year we will present Camp Getschow with a new rowboat, video projector and screen, as well as kickboards for swimming classes and life jackets for the other waterfront activities. We have also sponsored a contest to design new flags for both the School and Camp. All students that participated will enjoy a pizza party courtesy the Alumni Association with the winners each receiving a $50 prize.
A favorite cause for the Alumni Association is Glenwood’s Camp Getschow. Established in 1948 exclusively for Glenwood students, Camp Getschow gives students the opportunity to develop or enhance their outdoor camping and recreational interests, experiences and abilities in a safe, fun and structured environment. Camp Getschow is located on 180 heavily wooded acres on Blaisdell Lake in Loretta, Wisconsin, near the Chequamegon National Forest. It is an ideal place to enjoy archery, swimming, sailing, canoeing, fishing, boating, indoor and outdoor sports, Native American folklore and hiking, plus evening activities that promote teamwork and sportsmanship. The Alumni Association has always supported the Camp and will continue to do so in the future.
We are seeking your support as a prize donor for our annual golf outing to benefit the boys and girls of Glenwood School. This year our Golf Outing will be held on Saturday August 30th. The Prizes that you donate help us to continue our mission to provide programs that directly benefit our little brothers and sisters.
The faculty and administration of Glenwood School work together with parents to provide an atmosphere conducive to learning, Stressing the basics, encouraging creativity, and allowing for individual intellectual growth. Students receive a solid moral foundation and a strong set of values. Respecting the opinions of others and recognizing proper behavior are instilled in all grade levels.
Our annual Golf Outing is organized by volunteers from the Alumni Association and is one of the Associations largest fundraisers.
