ALUMNI CAMP WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
JUNE 19-20-21, 2009
Hello Glenwood Brothers & Sisters:

The best time of the year is here again! I always get excited this time of year, knowing that pre-camp is upon us. The feelings of friendship, sharing the great outdoors, seeing old faces, and reminiscing about the good old days when we were kids! It's always great seeing the Glenwood family during this weekend, and meeting their families. This year there will be new camp staff in the kitchen with the passing of Rose. She won't physically be with us, but she will be there in our hearts, always!

We are currently preparing activities for the 2009 Alumni Weekend. There are many jobs that will need to be done. This year we will need to assist Bob with more of the cleanup responsibilities around camp. The grass has grown on the infield of the ball diamond, so no cars will be parked in that area (we will rope that area off).

We may park in the outfield area. Just a reminder not to park the cars by the North or South washhouses because of the septic systems.

As a reminder, this is a work weekend, and everyone coming to camp "will need to" notify me by e-mail: work - jrosenberry@roe55.k12.il.us or home - jrosenberry53@yahoo.com phone: home - 1309-948-9005 or cell: 309-525-4001, so that we can plan for food and assign jobs for the weekend. It is absolutely imperative that I receive notification so the Camp staff will know how much food to purchase.

Alumni Weekend Schedule of Work Activities

Breakfast: 9:00 a.m. Lunch: 1:00 p.m. Dinner: 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, June19th - everyone arrives at camp for Alumni Weekend. If you're planning to arrive ahead of schedule, please notify me so we can make arrangements for cabins & food.

On Saturday, June 20th - everyone will be awakened at 6:30a.m. and will meet on the Circle at 7:00 a.m. We will then have work lined up with breakfast at 9:00 a.m.!

After Breakfast, everyone will be assigned a group with a Group Leader, and a task to do.

We will continue down the list until everything is finished.

On Sunday, June 21St - if the major work is finished, you will have the opportunity to enjoy camp a little on your own. The majority of us will be leaving for Illinois for work on Monday. Prior approval "must" be given by Glenwood Staff in order to stay at camp past Sunday. This may not be a possibility if the campers come in on Monday!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone for another "Great" weekend in the North woods. I will be arriving at camp a couple of days earlier. If you are planning to arrive earlier than Friday, I "need to be" notified. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!!

Have a Great Day, and God Bless!!!
John Rosenberry, "Class of 72"
